Summer 2020 is here and there is less than two weeks of school left. The waiting game on whether summer camps will be opening or not has gotten most of us a bit frustrated. From our conversation and some research we have been conducting here are a few things you should have in mind this Summer 2020:
1- Summer Camp Directors and organizers are eager to open up their camps.
2- Rest assure that their main priorities are the health and safety of our kids .
3- They are taking all precautions and measures to comply with CDC guidelines and ACA (American Camp Association is the association and leading authority for summer camps and youth development) recommendations and suggestions.
4- Most summer camp Directors and team are planning different scenarios and considering modalities such as: in-person mostly for outdoor camps, virtual or a hybrid option (virtual and in-person).
5- Some camps will be offering different shorter sessions instead of the usual Day Camp (shorter schedules and smaller groups)
6- Overall, almost no summer camp programs are as of today a 100% confirmed. Camp organizers will be deciding in the next few days and weeks what sessions and programs they will be offering. Please check for updates, everyone’s websites as well as this one. We will do our best to keep you informed!
Message to us when we read above...do not panic, in the next few days we will have confirmations, we can also think of slowly but surely sending our kids off to camp in shorter versions of the programs, or every other week while hosting a home camp program. Also, there are many virtual camps which have been popping up in the last few weeks. We will make sure to share those too as well. Let’s just remember that summer is also to make memories perhaps 2020 brings some of the best as a family!
