  • Alexander Camp @ Alexander Montessori: One of our favorites when it comes to school based fun for little ones. A family-owned and operated camp serving children at four locations. Their focus is to provide a variety of fun challenges for campers, providing them with new activities and opportunities to learn new skills. They alternate indoor and outdoor events and have fun, rain or shine, in their 8,000 sq. ft. air-conditioned gymnasium!   • RE Summer Programs @ Ransom Everglades: Ransom announces the return of the highly regarded Camp by the Bay for children entering kindergarten through 5th grades as well as a host of other opportunities for summer fun, exploration and learning for younger children and those in middle and high school. The different programs give opportunities to engage, learn and have fun through a variety of two-week camps (over 12 camp options available).   • Day Camp La Llanada: As every year camp La Llanada surprises campers exposing them to classic outdoor camping activities.   • Hurricane Aquatics Swim Camp@UM:  Each summer, Hurricane Aquatics hosts its popular Swim Camp for swimmers of age 7-12. To participate in Swim Camp, each camper must be 7 years old  and able to swim 25 yds (the width of the pool).  This celebrated day camp, based at the beautiful outdoor pool at the Whitten University Center on the Coral Gables campus, provides instruction in the areas of swimming in a group setting, springboard diving, and stroke technique. Staff includes energetic and knowledgeable coaches and instructors who are eager to share their passion for the sport of swimming. The impact of experienced counselors combined with various water and field group activities results in a fun and rewarding summer experience.   • ICA Miami Summer  Portfolio Prep: Portfolio Prep is a two-week intensive summer course designed to prepare students ages 11 to 15 who intend to apply to magnet and charter arts schools. The program prepares students for the competitive art school application process through sketchbook building exercises, skill-based lessons on technique, and creating and selecting work for personal portfolios.   • Junior Naturalist@ Deering Estate: A five day training course at the Deering Estate that encourages youth to take an active role in environmental stewardship and education and prepares them to serve as peer mentors. The course includes certifications in American Red Cross First Aid and Adult/Child CPR, in addition to an introduction to basic canoeing, South Florida ecosystems, and Leave No Trace. This counselor- in-training program provides service learning hours to participants and prepares the Junior Naturalist for experiences, internships, and other opportunities in environmental studies, natural sciences, nature based recreation, and volunteerism.  This course also allows youth to assist staff and enjoy being mentors to the Summer Camp participants during Summer Camp Sessions after they have completed the week-long training. After the training session has been completed, participants must be available to volunteer for an entire camp session (Monday through Friday) at a time.
